Version 1.0 completes major town and relationship arcs, raises Renown to 100, adds marriage and children, expands collections and missions, and is followed by the 1.0.1 stability hotfix.
Release status
Fields of Mistria reached full release on August 5, 2026. Version 1.0 ends the Early Access label, but the developers explicitly describe it as a milestone rather than the end of future updates. The 1.0.1 hotfix followed with crash and bug fixes.
New town progression
Who is affected
Players who reached the previous Early Access limits, finished available repairs, or stopped receiving major Renown unlocks.
What changed
The Town Repair Questline now has its full-release continuation. Town Renown reaches 100 and leads to the Mistril Town Rank event. New progression also involves the Saturday Market Plaza, Bell Tower, museum completion, Stillwell, and Zorel.
What to do now
Open the Journal, check mail and the Request Board, collect unclaimed Town Rank chest rewards, and confirm which prior repair lines are complete. Continue museum donations, shipping, and quests if the next story objective has not appeared.
Relationships, marriage, and family
Who is affected
Players at the old relationship cap or already dating a candidate.
What changed
Candidates now progress to ten hearts with proposal events. The release includes weddings and marriage. After reaching ten hearts with a dating partner, an Engagement Ring can be crafted. Wedding customization includes choices such as flower color, cake flavor, and reception meal. A Mystical Feather supports an optional path to having children after marriage.
What to do now
Review each priority character in the Social or Journal interface, watch any missing earlier event, and continue the current route. Do not assume an old eight-heart endpoint is still complete. See Characters & Romance for the spoiler-light framework.
Mines, magic, and late progression
Who is affected
Players who completed the earlier mine biomes, collected most perks, or paused at a story boundary.
What changed
The full-release scope continues the game’s magic, ruins, and combat progression. New perks and late objectives sit alongside the completed town arc. The official release also identifies the Friend-Shaped perk, which allows monsters to drop pet skins, and a Big Chicken mount.
What to do now
Check current skill statues and unspent Essence, review elevator checkpoints, upgrade food and equipment, and follow new story objectives rather than using an Early Access depth cap as the endpoint.
Collections and customization
Who is affected
Museum completionists, decorators, music collectors, and achievement hunters.
What changed
Version 1.0 adds the content needed to complete the museum and includes 69 Steam achievements. Zorel sells Crystal Resonators and Song Crystals for music customization. A fully upgraded house can change exterior appearance. New item groups include the Honey Set and Terrarium Treasures Set.
What to do now
Revisit the museum collection interface, inspect previously incomplete sets, review new achievement categories, and check Zorel’s role when the relevant progression opens.
Performance and quality of life
The official notes report major performance improvements and more than a 50 percent reduction in VRAM use compared with the prior update. Treat that as the developer’s release claim, not a guarantee for every PC. Keep graphics settings appropriate for your device and update before diagnosing an old performance issue.
Version 1.0.1 hotfix
The immediate hotfix corrects Crown Request letter text, seasonal date-photo display, the Mines Crate Chair preview, and a Russian-dialogue crash. It also addresses crashes involving Friday saves, Mistmare Ranching UI, a secret-bachelor Harvest Festival path, a Mines arena room, the Fire Seal scene, Journal and Town Rank UI, Rock Stack, mod wallpaper, monsters, and town shadows.
If one of those issues matches your save, confirm you are on at least 1.0.1 before attempting a workaround.
Returning-player checklist
- Update the game and launch the save once without third-party modifications.
- Review Accessibility and Controls, including Day Time Speed and rebound inputs.
- Check the Journal, mail, Request Board, Town Rank chest, and relationship pages.
- Visit skill statues to review perks and new choices.
- Recheck mine elevator progress and late-area objectives.
- Inspect museum sets and achievements that were impossible to finish in Early Access.
- Resume Friday Inn gatherings, Saturday Market progression, and priority character events.
- Keep old reference tables at arm’s length when they still describe Early Access caps.
Platform and localization note
Official FAQ language and current Steam metadata do not perfectly agree on Linux support, so this guide does not make a definitive Linux-support claim. The seven new localizations are beta translations, described by the official FAQ as about 75 percent complete at the 1.0 launch; they should not be presented as fully finished localization.
